Ingredients

  • 1 package phyllo dough, thawed
  • 2 cups mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds), finely chopped
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Syrup:
    In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, honey, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  2. Assemble the Baklava:
    Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush a 9×13-inch baking dish with melted butter. Layer 10 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing each sheet with melted butter. Sprinkle a thin layer of chopped nuts and ground cinnamon.
    Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a top layer of 10 sheets of phyllo dough.
  3. Bake the Baklava:
